SHNIIOR GRIDDERSjROW 1: C. Hamilton, G. Wilson, T. Garrett, B. Smitsky, J. Drugmand, R. Hallum, S. Long. ROW 2: I.. Dfugmand, M. Truzzi, F. Mackey. MONTOUR The West Allegheny Indians got off to a bad start in the '59 season as they lost the opener to Montour 25 to 0. The Indians outgained Montour in yardage and passing but just couldn't get the ball over the end zone. CORAOPOLIS W.A. took its worst beating of the season from a tough Coraopolis team. The score was 32 to 0 in a game that was played hard and rough from the opening kickoff to the final gun. DORMONT Dormont downed West Allegheny by a score of 12 to 0 in a rain drenched field. The field was so muddy and covered with water that it made ball handling difficult. MCKEES ROCKS The Indians didn't score in the sec- ond game either as McKees Rocks won 20 to 0. The team played hard but the breaks just fell the other way. MOON The W.A. Indians won their first game of the season as they defeated Moon by the score of 13 to 6 in a close contest. QUAKER VALLEY The W.A. Indians bounced back from their defeat from Dormont to down Quaker Valley 26 to 7. At half- time the score was 7 to 7 but in the second half there was no stopping the Indians as they went for 3 more touchdowns. CARNEGIE West Allegheny came very close to winning over Carnegie as they were defeated by one point, 7 to 6. The Indians scored a second touchdown and it was called back because of a clipping penalty. CRAFTON West Allegheny ran their win streak to two straight as they downed Craf- ton 21 to 13. It was a close contest and at the half W.A. led 14 to 7. FORT CHERRY The West Allegheny Indians ended the '59 season the same way they opened it as they lost their last game of the season to Fort Cherry 20 to 12. West Allegheny tried hard to come back from behind but Fort Cherry had too much of a lead. 89
