uaic, uaic, uiig The senior high chorus is a mixed chorus com- posed of 125 voices. Similar choruses have been in existence for the last six years in W. A. under the direction of Mr. Stewart Morgan. The chorus is a member of the Forensic League and competes in the state contest each year. The aggregation of 1953 Competed in the State Finals. The state championship is the aim of each year's organization. The repertoire of the chorus consists of reli- gious music with some popular semi-classical and spiritual numbers. The chorus has a student accompanist, even though most of the singing is a Capella. A Board of Directors, selected by the chorus, formulates the rules, plans performances, and keeps discipline in the large chorus. Public appearances of the chorus through the year are at assemblies, the Christmas concert, the Spring concert, and scheduled performances away from the school at various colleges, P.T.A. meetings, etc. ofzcafzf Band The senior high band consists of the marching band under the direction of Mr. F. L. Del Monte and the concert band under the direction of Mr. L. Rocereto. The bands consist of approximately 50 mem- bers each. The marching band performs at all of W. A.'s football games and participates in local parades. The concert band makes most of its appear- ances at assemblies, the Christmas concert, the Spring concert, and forensic contests. izz Qoffiai The Fizz Ed Follies is an annual event sponsored by the athletic department of the senior high. The theme for the 1955 follies was Under the Big Top in which approximately 200 students participated. Clowns, dancers, and skilled artists dis- played their talents before record breaking crowds for two evening performances. The follies was under the direction of Mrs. Martha Ridgway and Mr. George Allison. Lighting effects were done by Mr. Thomas Marriot and costuming was done by Mrs. Margaret Long. 'CQ 1 is f
