o WESLEYAN COLLEGE .HE beginning of a second century is at hand for Wesleyan College. Like a queen new-robed in vest- merits which were long only dream fabrics, but arc now tangible and gleaming, Greater Wesleyan stands and faces the promising years. No less the heart of Macon because of its situation out¬ side the limits of the city, Wesleyan College is still Macon’s pride. Leaving the Conservatory of Music which is increas¬ ing rapidly in itself, to keep life in the historic buildings on the old site, the spirit of Wesleyan has moved to its present location to expand into a beautiful estate of 170 acres, seven miles from Macon on the Dixie Highway. It is the present president, Dr. W. F. Q’uillian, who has led the company of far-sighted and beneficent supporters of Wesleyan progress. At the time of his accepting the posi¬ tion of president nothing definite had been done to bring about the Greater Wesleyan. With no sign of funds, but a tremendous amount of faith, Dr. Quillian led the campaign which made the recent plant a reality. Many examples of self-sacrifice and generosity have been shown in the campaign for two million dollars which resulted in the erection of twelve colonially designed build¬ ings in red brick and Georgia marble—symbols of the lead¬ ing Southern college which Wesleyan is predicted to be¬ come in the future.
