Wentworth founded the Wentworth BUIitary Academy in 1880 he vested the control of the institution witii its original buildings and grounds in the hands of a Board of Trustees which was lo Ik composed of a duly elected rcpreacntative of each of the Evangelical churclieu ol the city of Lexington, and a President Mr. Wentworth «erved as President of the Board from 1880 until ms death In 18d7, after trhi(A time he has bMH succeeded by Judge Richard Fidd. It Is the duty of thp Hoard to see that the tMinafement of the Arftdomy is entrusted to competent officers and that the standards Set tqrUr. Wentworth in Uie origitial charter are maintained. All members of the Faeultjr are voted on by the Beard and it is provided that such officers in edition to being duly qualified scholastically for the teaching re- quired, must be men or women of Christian character reffularly affiliated with some Evan- gelical church.
