On one of the bluifs ol ' the river not far from where Wentworth Military Academy stands was fought the biittlr of Lexington, which was an important battle of llie late Civil War. Lexington is an old town and its poptllation inchides many of the oldest and most cultured families of the state. The cadets are therefore thrown with refined ptiPide ia ieir social life.
