JAMES ARTHUR RAMSDELL, IR. Like the driving of Jehu, the son of Nimshi, for he driveth furiously. Rubber in the road--Jimmy was here. See a streak, hear a squeal of tires--that's Jimmy. Everyone around knows his souped-up, cut-down, open- hood hot rod. If you want to know anything at all about cars, Jim is the ex- pert. Jim's speed is not confined to the road but is also exhibited in track. Track 3, 4: Stage Manager 3, 4. WANITA ANN SAYWARD 'And her ways are ways of gentleness and all her paths are peace. The seniors voted Wanita the quietest girl in the class--and rightfully. She is a sure and steady worker and her devotion to the her principles predicts a good future for her. We wish her a good harvest in the Lord's fields. Glee Club 1,2,3, 4: Junior Play Prompter 3: Usherette 3: Yearbook Staff 4. NORMA ROSALIE SPOONER Silence is golden. What a different place Room I would be if all our classmates made as little noise as Rosalie does. Her school career has given her a good background for future homemaking, and her pleasant personality shows she'd be a happy home- maker too. This year the typing room had a great attraction for her. What could it have been? Freshman Reception Committee 3g Cafeteria Worker 4g Librarian 2g Glee Club 1 1,2, 3,4g Operetta lg Choraliers 2,3g Usherette 3: Yearbook Staff 4. RICHARD EDWARD STEVENS The hom of the hunter is heard on the hill. Richard has been a distinct loss to our class--as far as noise making goes-- for he was voted the shyest boy in class. Just put a gun in his hands, though, and he is no longer quiet and shy. Nothing can hold Richard back in hunting season, not even the prospect of ten hours after school. Our Davy Crockett manages to mark a deer each season. Good hunting to you, Richard. Track 1, 3, 4, Basketball 4, Stage Manager 33 School representative in State foul shooting contest. JAMES BERNARD O'GORMAN, JR. Anything for a quiet life. James is our one and only--our one and only classmate who is planning to become an undertaker. And he has a good reason for his plans--he will thus be assured of a steady job. James never wastes his breath in idle chatter. Any extra breath he has had, he has used for the last four years helping out the Wells School Band. If no student ever caused any more trouble than James does, Wells High would be a teachers' paradise. Band 1, 2, 3, 45 Yearbook Staff 4. RONALD HAROLD PHILLIPS Without humor, life would be dreary. And without our buddy Babe our class would not have been half so lively, as we found out all those weeks during our junior year when Babe was on vaca- tion. He was a big name on Wells' track team, especially in pole vaulting, high jumping and hurdling. His big name in class is that of the wittiest. His quick smile and dry remarks have made him a favorite in class, especially with one of our classmates who lives in Wells Branch. Track 1,25 Baseball 25 Track Manager 45 Yearbook Staff 45 Football 2, 35 Senior Play 4. ALLAN GEORGE PINKHAM 'Work is the key to success. Allan has faithfully haunted the typing room for the past two years, and it would not be the same without him. We never see Allan ruffled or downcast, and his cheerful smile and pleasant personality are assets to our classroom. Good luck in the future, Allan. Basketball Manager 45 Yearbook Staff 45 transferred from Waterville High School in 1956. DANA MERRILL PUTNAM Toujours gai. The seniors have been fortunate this year to have Dana to add that little extra bit to our class. No one has ever seen Dana without a twinkle in his eye and a pleasant expression. It's lucky that Dana is good-natured, for otherwise he'd take a few pokes back at some of his classmates who love to tease him. We'd like to know the secret of his success, not only with his own classmates, but with underclassmen--or should we say underc1asswomen. CATHLEEN ANN STREW 'Mischief is thy middle name. Cathy is the mischief maker of the senior class and a live wire on the basket ball court or anywhere else. She does much to keep the team spirit alive, even if our team's behind. She has a deep interest in Kennebunk. Could it be personal? No wonder the class voted her the biggest flirt, the noisest girl, and the biggest time waster. Cathy has made Wells High's halls rock with laughter and fun. Donna, our class beauty, has a queenly air about her--twice the choice of her class for Harvest Ball Queen, and Maine's Apple Queen for 1956. She made a noteworthy stage debut as Mrs, Dopenduffer in 'Crazy but Cute, and on the basketball court the four years of her peculiar dribble and guarding technique have made her county famous.
