HERBERT RALPH HILL 'A merry heart doeth good like medicine. Ralph is a busy little guy. It's not always school work, but he certainly keeps himself occupied. Many people think that he must spend all his time thinking up just the right remark to make when the occasion arises. On the cross country course he's known as the little man with the big wind, and he is a threat on the basketball floor. His side burns, his hair cut for lack of itj and his boneshaking style of dancing have made him known county-wide as Elvis. 'Best looking' and 'Best dressed'--that's what the class voted David. A look at the library cards also shows him to be the class's most omnivorous reader. Dave was a good Scrambler on the football field, and four years of basketball have made his name and face well known throughout our league. ALFRED PHILIP HYNES What would I do without a woman? Pinky is that good-natured fellow who is usually seen chasing after the girls fwho don't seem to run very fastl. I-le captured three votes in the class super- latives--'Best natured, Best dancer and 'Best all-round personality. He's a terror on the football field and the basketball court, and cracks a mean gavel as our senior class president. With his likeable personality Pinky should go far in his chosen field. Phil, our class comedian, is that energetic boy who can be seen almost anywhere but where he should be. If you hear a loud bang or a crash, you can be sure that Phil is near. No wonder he was voted the 'noisiest boy' in the class. The class certainly wouldn't be the same without him, nor would the cross country, track, or football teams. WARREN GAYLAND COUSINS It's the steady and quiet ones who win in the long run. If the above quotation is true, Warren is due for a great victory in the future Quiet, he surely is--just nosed out of first place in the class vote. At times though, he can be a nuisance to his neighbor in homeroom. He's quite a tease. Warren is often seen riding around in his DeSoto with a certain junior miss. ARLINE JOYCE EPPICH A hard worker comes out on top. The class evidently believes this, for they voted Joyce the girl most likely to succeed. Joyce can handle the most involved tasks carefully and surely. Her two years as class treasurer and this past year as business manager of the year- book have certainly shown that. Whenever a senior has wanted help with his work, the cry is Ask Joyce, and Joyce always comes to the rescue. Semper paratus is her motto in school work, class activities and in any kind of fun-- even trips to Florida. ALFRED LEO GAGNON 'Aim high and hold your aim. Freddy has been our faithful vice president for two years and was voted as the boy most likely to succeed. ln spite of his business experience in handling the senior store this year, Freddy is still sticking to his first love--agriculture. His favorite sport is football, and his favorite girl--well, perhaps some con- clusion might be drawn from his frequent trips to Moody. JANET LOUISE GOODALE Good -natured people gain many friends. Janet is that cute forward who racks up all the points on the basketball court. ln addition, her good ranks helped her to be voted the best all around' girl. She is a loyal worker for the class and a friend to all. Janet can often be seen walking the corridor with a certain Babe -Y. If she carries through her present ambition to be a teacher, the profession will certainly be benefited thereby. JOHN HENRY LADDERBUSH For Satan finds some mischief still for idle hands to do. Although Jackie can be serious if it is really necessary, he is seldom quiet. His favorite song is 'Jeanie with the Dark Brown Hair. The fact that the class voted him the boy with the nicest personality indicates that he has a good start toward success. How Merton rates can be seen by the fact that he was elected co -captain of football his junior year and captain his senior year. His prowess in this sport won him honorable mention on the ALL-STATE TEAM. Mert is popular with both his teammates and his opponents and gives the basketball crowds a thrill with his set shots from the side. But if you want to see this strong athlete blush just ask him to say a few words in public. Billy is a man--all six feet four inches of him--of few words, but let something displease him and words do not fail him. He toots a big horn in the band and is a steady player on the basketball court. This year he wrested from Danny Cook the three year old record of 'most often tardy. Perhaps you'd better get a horse, Billy. Glge Club 1,2: Football 1,2, 3,4g Basketball 1, 2,3,4g Vice President 2, Band 1,2, 3,4g Operetta lg Baseball 2, 3: Senior Play 4. ELINOR S ANDRA MURPHY 'Sugar and spice and all things nice. Dorchester High's loss in 1955 was Wells High's gain. Sandy is one of the few girls who can throw a softball true: she's an unpopular guard on the basket- ball team--that is, unpopular with the unfortunate forwards who have to play against her. Her grace and ease on the dance floor won her the title of the best dancer in the class. She 's one of the most willing workers among the sen- iors and is a thoughtful and considerate friend.
