Then after being short changed by Welch 16 Anson 20 Anson, 20-16. They were soundly beaten by a strong Welch 6 Miller 20 Miller team, 20 -6. The 9th gridders then came back to Welch 14 Newton Central 14 tie Newton Central, 14 -14. Then when they were beaten Welch 20 Lenihan 31 by their third Marshalltown opponent, this time Lenihan, WC1Ch 19 Central O 31-20.
