In the 60 years from Bainbridge to Bain- bridge, they have progressed from coal- burning, cramped little ships, hardly worthy of the title, to sleek men of war, powered by the constantly moving atom ,' destroyer armament has evolved from 3-inch guns to highly accurate Electronic Missiles. The Destroyeris one remaining feature of the past is the can-do attitude of her ohicers and men. Though weapons and tactics have been improved, the driv- ing force is the same. No job is too large or too small for a Destroyer or her crew, whether in war or in peace.
