This minute island is referred to as the Pearl oi the Grientn, and if is truly that. Honor Kona is probably the mast cosmopolitan city in the world, cos- mopolitan in every way conceivable. Many are the tailor shops that line the thorouqhiares, varied are the races ot peo- ples that patrol the streets, unusually unique are the restaurants and cafes that cater to the taste oi the aourmet, and in- numerable are the shrines and cathedrals, ancient and modern. I-Iona Kona is a tourist deliaht. The Peak Tramway slowly ascends the side ot the mountain and from the apex of Victoria Peak, one can almost be master ot all he surveys as his aaze sweeps the limitless horizons oi mysterious China. Tiaer Balm Gardens awe the visitor with splashes oi brilliant color as each set oi statues and oddly shaped characters tell their own and ancient story. Aberdeen Villaae astonishes the novice in the Far East with its myriads oi iiinlcs and iishina boats, The tours around the island by taxicab visually il' liistrates the remarkable class ditterences which prevail in the East. There is no word that can riahtly des scribe' this metropolis. lt poaawaawa the exotic lore of China past, the modern striic' tures ol China present, and the envisons ina dreams oi China to come.
