...:E X 4 The officer who handles the administrative matters of the ship is Lieutenant Commander Vinton C. Vint, Executive Officer Mr. Vint entered the Navy in Auaust of 1936. Durina the Sec ond World War he served on board the USS BAGUADUCE CAT-211 up to 1943. In that year he was appointed to temporary Warrant Officer with the rank of BOSN and served on board the USS LEONIS IAK-1281 in the Marshall Islands and Saipan cam paiqns. In May 1944 he was promoted to ENSIGN and soon after selected as commanding officer of USS LST-996. He later received a spot promotion to LIEUTEANT and commanded LST-133, 997 and 1097 consecutivey. His duty after the war has included com pletion of five term colleae program at the University of Oklai homa, First Lieutenant of the BADOENG STRAIGHT ICVE-1161 during the Korean War, General Line School at Monterey, Oper ations officer on the USS PERKINS CDDR-8771 and an instructor at FLEET SONAR SCHOOL in San Diego Mr. Vint was selected for LCDR in 1954 and reported aboard the WEDDERBURN in Ianuary 1957.
