FIRST ROW Attherton B Hazelton Erving SECOND ROW Dietel Coach Miller Whitmore THIRD ROW McCulloch Hathaway FOURTH ROW Oatway Thomson Gore Every year for a single term the gym floor is shined and polished and five dernerit penalties are handed out for walking on it in street shoes Basketball season is on brief but also because the squad suffered from a complete lack of returning varsity lettermen Still the inexperienced Gauls bounded enthusiastically around the court and managed to turn in a creditable showing Their bounding improved rapidly under Coach Millers tutelage and to Ward the end of the season all members of the squad had improved tremendously in their playing ability They defeated a team which had defeated them at the beginning the only team they played twice When the season ended the gym floor reverted to its scarred sand scraped condition and the basketball team looked forward to next years season with the promise of nearly all the men returning This year the team was slow to hit its stride, not only because the pre-game practice time was
