The Delphians were the over-all win- ners. Webb hosted this year's Play Day, where girls from various area schools played games under the leadership of lVlrs. Michael Gordon. There are many rough spots left in the gym program- for girls, most notably a lack of depth in several sports areas, but next year's athletic program promises to clear these out quickly. In its second year, the boys' intramural program at Webb again successfully provided competition for those not out for interscholastic sports. Upper School team captains for the year were David Barbour, Floss Bagwell, Louis Crossley, and David Stair, while Richie DeSeIm, Ward Hamilton, Rick Deaderick, Tim Tudor, and Bobo Townsend headed the Lower School teams. The year's program was climaxed in late Nlay by the iirst All-Sports Day, where an afternoon was devoted to stu- dent participation in several sports. All in all, the intramural programs proved once again successful.

For the second year the Graf dining room, living room, breakfast room, and kitchen have been a shambles for nine months, as the Princeps staff gave birth to the record of Webb School 1970-71 from Adams to Zirkle. Though it was a hard year, full of headaches, misunderstandings, and tears, we did have our share of laughter, closeness, and occasional feeling of accomplishment. Not only do l owe thanks to certain dedi- cated members of my staff, but also to several people who gave of themselves without prior commitment or expectation of recognition - especially Sally Townsend and Ellen Wallace. l also wish to express my appreciation for lVlr. Snodgrass's consistent support and readiness to help us in every way possible. Finally, I am grateful to my mother, for being the most dependable staff member of the year, and my father, for living with us both. PHOTOGRAPHERS lVlr. Ron Warwick lVlr. Tom lVlinter lVlr. To maintain unity throughout the book, the staff selected Press Roman and Univers type faces. Paperstock used was Warren's Contemporary Matte finish. Pages 120 through 160 were Simpson Lee's Gray Teton, 80-pound basis. Endsheet paper stock was 65-pound cover weight Hammermill Black. The cover was stamped in black on burgundy burlap material. Process four color reproductions appearing on pages 1, 4, 5, and 8 were individually hand separated. On pp. 12-13, 44-45, 92-93, and 120-121, a special screen was used for a mezzotint effect. Class portraits were made by lVliller's Gay Street Por- trait Studio.
