N N iii' W li ' iii ' i ll The athletic highlight of 1972-73 was without a doubt the basketball squad. School spirit was at its height at all Big Red Basketball con- tests. The Cardinals finished 24-3 and made the coveted trip to Columbia for the State Tourney. As a result of the tireless efforts of Coach Ron Ellis and his cagers, the entire area got behind the Dread- ed Red and boosted them to a fourth-place finish in the state. Though the season is done, the pride and spirits that come from uniting behind one cause and moving forward to achieve a goal still goes on at W.C.H.S. Even though school was dismissed for the occa- ion, many students, teachers, and administration joined in the ass evacuation. Free lunches were served to all of those who welped and it turned out to be just as much fun as it was work. ith the help of everyone involved the new school has become reality for all.
