In surroundings like those of the lovely Fairy Queen, who set up her festival pavilion in the woods, Miss Rosemary Woodard was crowned Queen of KING JACK amidst an enchanted woodland scene of ferns and palms with variegated pastel-streamers forming a lovely canopy above the throne. The trumpeters, Whitson Kirk and John McFarland, played the fanfare. To the strains of Pomp and Chivalry , played by the orchestra, the processional advanced to the coronation pavil- ion: The Maids of Honor and their escorts, Shirley McFarland and Carroll Knost 5 Susan Cochran and Tommy Tarrantg Peggy Walters and Dale Shellhorng Betty Lou Pryor and Jim Toutzg Linda Haddock, the Flower Girl, and Ralph Frizzell, the Crown Bearerg Rosemary Woodard and her es- cort, Jim Hickam, president of the Senior Class, who later crowned Miss Woodard as Queen. After the coronation a beautiful program was given in honor of Her Majesty, the Queen of KING JACK.
