FOREWORD The Quinault Staff of 1960 worked with one purpose—to capture the activities of a year between two covers. In the mind of every staff member was the thought, A better annual—a better record for my fellow students. His every new idea, his every extra effort was focused on this objective. A school annual is a means to preserve our fun, our worries, and our progressive record of growth while in high school. It is our hope that when you open your annual in future years, recollections of feverish cramming, the anticipation of elections, the significance of commencement, and all the other memories of years behind, will again be recalled. Jntfl (®itr Unrtfi Behind this doorway lies a unique world — a training ground for achievement, creativeness, cooperation, and sportsmanship. This is our world, high school. Our basic purpose is achievement. In studies, sports, and clubs, we strive to master our task. To many an outsider we appear as an indiscernible mass. We dress alike, style our hair the same, and go places in big groups, but we think differently. We are individuals. Among us are the personalities that will emerge as the future doctors, ministers, artists, or pioneers of space. We extend to the reader, whether familiar or not with Weatherwax High, an invitation to step through our doorway and view the activities and progress of the inhabitants of a world dedicated to producing the America of tomorrow.
