FOOTBALL The Wayzata Trojan football team this year suffered :1 poor season in comparison with last year's championship squadi The squad is coached by B. R. Crowningshield. he Trojan grid-men started the season 0111 with a bang as their baffling XYZ formation whipped Deephaven by the score of 19 t0 '. was Wayzata's game all the way. as Captain Don Streeter tallied twice. The next week Wayzata lost its conference opener to the Mound Mohawks by the count of 14 to 12. It was a close contest all the way. but the point-after-touchdown proved the vital factor. Perhaps if the boys had pulled through with a victory here, the season rec- 0rd would have looked better. Our Homecoming game was our best. as the boys smashed Chaska 33 to 0. The squad was obviously verv inspired by the Homecoming festivities as they rolled up T.D. after T. . The last three tilts were lost to very tough clubseSt. Louis Park. J. 5Dor- at the end of the thx'ee-quartei' mark. it looked as though the Trojans would pull through with a victory, but the Par squad tipped the locals in the end. 19 to 7. The West game was very rough as the more experienced and heavier Minne- apolis club had httle trouble in downing the Wayzata boys. The last game of the entire football season, played with Princeton. was a cold affair, the smaller men from Princeton surprised evervnne and they pulled out an 18 to 0 victory. The starting lineup for the Trojans was the following: Ends. Chuck Stryker and John Jones; tackles. Bob Miller and Marly Bloom: guards. Clark Sundblad. Ken Leuer and Lowell ZitzlmT: eenter. Wilson; backfield. Ken Quast. Dave Mayer. Don Streeter. Les Oare. Tommy Moeger and Frank Sehiehe. Despite the fact that the Trojans had a poor season. three Wayzata players won All Conference laurels. Marlin Bloom. Don Streeter and John Jones each won pcsiticns on the All Conference teams. Bloom was placed at center on the tirst team. while Streetei' and Jones won half- baek and end positions. respectively. on the second team. Page Fifteen A SQUAD BASKETBALL TokMr. McCaslin, D.
