Class Advisors: Mr. Thomas lvlcLeish Mrs. Anita Uetrecht SENIORS 69 Fantasy 1979 There I was at Fantasy '79, on May 20th 1999, for our reunion of the Waynesfield- Goshen High School Class of 1979. l was met by the owner Chris Zimmerman and his assistant Virgil Kennedy. They thought the class needed a vacation and a reunion, so they provided their resort as the meeting. place. The capsule that brought me here was piloted by Gary Young. lt was designed by scientists Robin Pyles and john johnson. Greg Bly and Mark Ball drew the plans for the quinsonic sound system. Tom johnson and Bruce Knotts developed the fuel for the capsule. David Kuba's corporation built the craft for the small sum of S79 trillion. Transportation from the landing to the Harrod Hotel, owned and operated by Russ Harrod, was provided by Playboy limousines which Tim Walti currently owns. The interiors of the cars were designed by Carrie Patton and Connie Shaner. The interiors were in royal blue and gold with fake tiger fur seats. The exteriors were painted by jeff Williams, Inc. in white with a tiger hood ornament and racing tigers on the sides. Dennis Wells, mechanic, saw to the servicing of the cars. While riding down the main drag I saw Tami Fogt's Music Shop.lt features nightly ten of the top bands in the universe. Currently performing are the Rockin' Ridenours of which Pat Ridenour is lead guitarist and Tava Coates is lead female vocalist. Tracie Beers often appears with her group the Melodious Hearts. The food for the reunion was catered by Ken james Grocery and Catering Service. He gets a lot of the food from Dan Knowlton Farms. The hostess of the meals was Cheryl Dulebohn. On the walls were many beautiful paintings, some were done by Rick Dotson and others by Cindy Vermillion. Sitting at my table was Ella Hawk. She took time off from her job, President of C.C. Universe fCosmetic and Clothing Universej, to fly down to the reunion. She employs ,joe Kenke as her financial consultant. Cindy Coy does advertising for her and had been offered a multi-billion dollar contract to do a movie. Deanece Rolston designs clothes while Kelly Miller and .jodi House model them for C.C. Universe. 70 SENIORS When it came time for entertainment, the famous comic Terry Scott, was there to put on a show fit for a King and Queen. The King of Racing, lim Webb, and the Home- coming Queen, Tina Baker, were sitting a few tables away. She said that she helps her husband operate the Electronics Corporation. Lana Carter came by with the news that she is opening a secretarial school on Centura, the second moon of Venus. Renee Shaner went by and said that she had been nominated for the Bowlers' Hall of Fame. She holds the record for the most consecutive strikes at 979. lames Pitts and Leonard Roessler fvere able to stop by for a few hours before taking off to test the new homes they created. Solar heating has run its course so they've invented a way to get energy from the moon and the stars. Our class had the worst attendance record in the history of W-G. When anyone got sick Doctor Tim Billings came to the rescue. Nurse Ann Fuerst was his assistant. Sandy Shaw now owns a Speedy Typing Service. She doesn't need any help because she types so fast that she is recorded not by words per minute but pages per minute. Todd Doty fixes typewriters because being a billionaire bores him. lulie Stauffer has just opened a new bank here. She gives loans at a mere 7900. She gets a lot of business from lim Roof's Real Estate customers. He owns three planets near here, also. Getting your hair done was no problem. Pam Wagner has her shop at one end of town and Lisa MiIIer's is at the other end. Both specialize in the new Create-A-Look Style, that gives you any look you want. l, Kerry Price, have been writing short stories, poetry, and I have just finished my first novel, Amber Starr. When the reunion ended each member received a miniature Bengal tiger kitten. I named mine Happiness and that is what I wish for all of you. Class Secretary, Kerri Price SENIORS 71 1979 GRADUATION Waynesfield-Goshen High School Graduation Exercises were held May 20, 1979 at 2:00 PM in the High School gymnasium. As the future fades into the present, we will receive the answers to these and so many oth- er questions. Our involvement at Waynesfield Goshen is an impor- tant step in enabling us to find our talents and use them to the best of our ability. Many of our attitudes, ideals, and future plans reflect on our participation in .. . School Life. SCHOOL LIFE 103 L ,- X wx 104 SCHOOL LIFE .1 4441 J We V44 .I ...ei One of the first ways school life has touched us is through our education- al experiences. From the time we first entered a classroom, we became aware that a good educa- tion is a necessity. Waynesfield Goshen offers a wide variety of courses. Some of us will sign up for science and math courses year after year, while others tend to choose English and his- tory. No matter what courses we decide to take, we can be sure that they will be interesting and challenging. We've worked on so many class projects. Do you remember last min- ute group book reports? Learning never stops when we leave the class- room. Upon graduating, we will have received so much more than a diplo- ma. We will have gained more knowledge than a book could ever hold. We will have learned to state our ideas and opinions and will have learned to respect those of others. We've shared the load and we've even carried it by ourselves at times, but we will know, as we bid a last farewell to W-G, that it was well worth it. SCHOOL LIFE 105 LW' '- . 5- gx Q Qfx x rw. GIMU Y 42 iff' - 4 106 SCHOOL LIFE 7,7 4-- ..--4 Lu fl A big part of School Life lies in our athletic interest and ability. Those who decide to join the volleyball or basketball teams, for instance, receive first hand knowledge of what teamwork and sportsmanship are all about. Being involved in an athletic activity gives us a sense of pride and enthusiasm that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. Participating in a sport not only fills our extra time but gives us a chance to share our accomplishments with people from other schools. Our records will always be broken. New and better running times will be set, but we will have left W-G knowing that the spirit we once carried to the finish line is still being passed on. IE , , ' 1 Q K 3 4., V Q Another way we are able to participate in School life is through our involvement in extra-curricular activities. Band and chorus are always good choices. Some of us like to get involved in annual or newspaper staff. Through these activities we can share our talent with our community. When we join a club or organization in our school, we not only become better friends with the people around us, but we become better friends with ourselves. Getting involved in an activity or two gives us much insight to the dawning of the world around us. After we graduate and go our separate ways, we'll always look upon our years at Waynesfield Goshen as some of the most important years of our lives. The times we'll remember, like a joke we've shared or a note we've passed - and the times we'd like to forget, like a fight with a friend or a lost football game. These are all a part of our school life. Our personal growth and achievement here will reflect on our success in the future. SCHOOL LIFE 109 Dvxk. -1. 'W ff LEMIIN SCENTED U v . Boerog to the Village People, dicso fever at the Limetree. Reflections of our year. The '79 Tigers will remember all of these but perhaps most importantly, we will recall the many friendships, the close ties, the good times of this - our year. 1979 was the end of a decade - the Age of Transition. lt was also the ending of our carefree childhood, but the new decade will bring the next phase of our lives into focus. As we look forward to our lives, filled with uncertainties, we remain hopeful. Our expectations for the future are great, and we recognize even now that somewhere, off in the distant future, we'll look back at this book and reflect on 1979. ,.L5Ell:1l.55li',UQ3 f- f- D . . ,W-,., W M . .
