Some students spend the twelve years simply passing time. Others try to make the most of the twelve years by studying, participating, and serving. I At Waynesfield-Goshen there will always be a place for those willing to study hard, to participate actively, to serve fully. Always will there be room for those willing to meet the challenge. Dennis Hefner displays careful and accurate workmanship . The clarinet section of the band must practice . . . practice, and still continue to practice, if the band is to produce a sound satisfactory to director Edmund Nihiser. Depicting the theme were such decorations as a sidewalk cafe, street lamp posts, and many multicolored crepe paper flowers. One of the main attractions was the replica of the Eifel Tower in the center of the floor. Spotlighted with different colored lights, this became a favorite background for photo- graphs. After a wonderful banquet everyone enjoyed themselves by dancing to the soft music of the Ray Coleson Orchestra. The Iunior Class succeeded in reaching their goal of giving the class of 1971 a prom they would remember for a long time to come. ABOVE: Dennis Heffner seems to be enjoying the prom. Vernon Hurles, pastor of the Cridersville Church of the Nazarene, to deliver the combined graduation address, Even though there was only one ceremony, a growing tend among high schools in the area, it was one of the shortest graduations time wise in memory, BAC CALAUREATE AND COMMENCEMENT COMBINED Greg Snider Adjusts the Gown of fellow student Greg Shobe before the graduation ceremony on May 23, 1971. This year the second graders began a new ex- perience - creativity. 'I'hey worked on everything from planting corn, grass, soybeans, etc., to mak- ing Christmas decorations. As others did, they too enjoyed the library periods with the new stories and books. They also became acquainted with science which included experiments concerning light, heat, darkness and magnets. New reading and math skills were also applied. Many of the children discovered that school is not quite so bad, if one applies himself.
