i K' -,ij K. FOREWORD Within the covers of our yearbook we have attempted to bring to you school-life as we see it at Wayne High. We, who have assisted in its publication, hope that it may renew school-day memories. Our purpose has been to incorporate into this book a variety of things that will recall to your mind pleasant days spent at school. And so we present to you our yearbook and hope that 'you will receive as much enjoy- ment in viewing it as we have had in publishing it. We wish to take this opportunity to thank the Yale Newspaper Syndicate for the printing and engraving, Olan Mills and Walter Sweet for pictures, and the advertisers without whose cooperation this annual would have been impossible. Ruth Ann Morris, Associate Editor. EDITORIAL Picture a modern war factory fully equipped with 26 fine and dependable mechanics, and the many new and different things being turned out by it. . Now let us compare that with the junior mechanics who have worked hard and steadily on the invention of the yearbook. This year we have made a larger annual both in quantity and we hope in quality. We have added more pictures and used a new type of padded cover for the Wayne Echo. We sincerely hope that you will approve of this new innovation. I wish to thank my editorial staff and teachers for their unceasing cooperation to make this issue of the Wayne Echo a success. We have tried and tested our innovations and we now turn them over to you, hoping it helps you to recall many, many fond memories. Marva Kaufman, Editor-in-Chief
