JUNIUR GLASS On a warm September day in 1939 thirty-five Freshmen were greet- ed by Miss Stalter, the class advisor. They proved to be very ambitious and took part in the sport and music organizations. Three of our class- mates withdrew during the year. We began the Sophomore year with three new members: Bettie Roberson, Oscar Martin, and Robert Mumaugh making the total again of thirty-five. Two parties were enjoyed during the year. This year has been filled with many different exciting experiences, with giving 'The Jade Ring and a joint play with the Seniors. After much heated discussion, we finally decided on class rings, and were well satisfied with the selection. We have accomplished much the past year under the able direction of Miss Vera Jeddy, our advisor. , The class officers were elected during the first week of school and included the following: President, joe Sproulg Vice-President, Vivian Wilson, Secretary, Flora Sue Bayliff, and Treasurer, Roderick Gray. At the same time the annual staff officers were elected: Editor-in-Chief, joe Hatfield, joe Pepple, Business Manager, and Bettie Roberson, Ruth Patton, Vivian Wilson, Byron Bondurant, and Roderick Gray for the advertising committee. And now the end of another year. It still does not seem possible to us that we'll be dignified CH Seniors next term.
