CLASS HISTORY HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 1955 In 1943, we, the Senior Class of 1955 began our flight for PLANET HIGHER EDUCATION. Only seven of the senior class began their trip in the space-ship WAYNE. Ted Folkerth, Shirley Hart, Jerald I-lueber, Robert McKnight, Donald Peacock, and Jerry Prescott left on the long journey, with Miss Anna Platt as their pilot, and Mr. Leon Thompson as their co-pilot. They were in flight until September, 194-4, when they came to a stop on PLANET CONKLIN. There they found Harold Conklin ready and willing to go on with them. In the fall of 1945, they landed on PLANET BUTCHERg there they let Miss Platt off and picked up a new pilot by the name of Helen Butcher: they also received a new member by the name of Lois Furgason, who came from Union City. They found her to be very gentle and kind. They found Mrs. Butcher always ready to help them in whatever need they had. And in the spring of 1946, they landed on a planet by the name of PLANET COX. There they picked up a sun-tanned boy by the name of Simeon Cox. They progressed well that summer, and in the fall of 1946, they landed on another planet, there they let Simeon Cox and Ted Folkerth off. Simeon said he had to go to Arizona, and Ted said he had to go to Daleville. On this planet they picked up David Carpenter, an enthusiastic boy from McKinley. From there they made much progression and didn't make a stop until the fall of 1947, when they landed on PLANET GRACE. There they received a new pilot, whose name was Grace Cox. She greeted them with a smile and told them that she was glad to have them as her passengers. On PLANET GRACE they also picked up two new members by the names of Joyce Moore and Mary Roberts. They found them to be girls willing to go on with them. On PLANET GRACE they also picked up Simeon Cox and Ted Folkerth who decided to go on with them. All this time they had been in the rear of the ship, but in the fall of 1951, they graduated to the cabin, where they received a higher training. That fall they picked up quite a few new officers, many of whom have helped them to this year of 1955, the year they shall land on PLANET HIGHER EDUCATION. From now on it's all up to them. There are many places and many different opportunities on PLANET HIGHER EDUCATION and its mother planet, PLANET SUCCESS. From the education they received in the space-ship WAYNE, they should be able to make a success of life.
