PROPHECY On July 21, 1965, we were on our way to the airport, when we noticed that a new firm had moved into town. We stopped to inquire, and we met Shirley Hart, a former classmate, at the receptionist's desk. She was secretary of the Good and Wymer Firm . She told us she had not made the great decision of marriage yet. As we were about to board the plane, we saw a young man that looked very familiar. As he turned around, we saw that it was Harold Conklin, a former classmate. Harold said since high school he has been traveling from place to place for the Jenkins Comb Company. While talking to Harold we found that he still had a very large date book. After bidding good-bye to Harold, we journeyed to Dayton, and while there we saw Lois Furgason. She told us that she was working as a secretary in a large business firm. She had married the boss's son and had one little girl. After telling Lois farewell, we boarded a plane for Phoenix, Arizona. As we were walking down town, we went into the library: there sat Donald Peacock. He was studying. He had changed considerably since his former high school days. He had grown a mustache and now was wearing glasses. We went over and talked to him and found out that he was a school teacher. He said he was waiting for his wife, who was also a teacher. We decided to visit the University of California and see a football game. While walking over the campus, we ran into Jerry Prescott sitting under a chestnut tree feeding the squirrels peanuts. He told us that he was professor in Math. Before leaving Jerry, we went to the football game with him and his wife, and their two children. As we were traveling in Wisconsin, we saw a herd of Holstein cattle. We stopped at the farm house and found out that Ted Folkerth, another 1955 classmate, lived there. He moved to Wisconsin soon after graduation and established a large dairy farm. He had also gotten himself a wife and now has five children. We took a plane to New York, where we heard that Simeon Cox, another 1955 graduate, was a baseball player for the Yankees. Up in the crowd one voice stood out among all others, that was the former Mary Jo Ruff who is now Simeon 's better half. While we were still in New York, we heard that another 1955 classmate was minister in a large church in Phila- delphia, Pennsylvania. Sunday morning we were guests at the large church of which Jerald Hueber was pastor. After the services, Jera1d's lovely wife invited us to dinner. During dinner we talked over old times, and we learned that Jerald and his wife were doing well in the church. That night about 6:00, we boarded a plane and headed back to Indiana. ,We spent the night in Lafayette. Monday morning as we passed the courthouse in Lafayette, we saw a sign that read David Carpenter, County Agent We began inquiring and found out it was the same David Carpenter we knew back in 1955. After high school he had attended Purdue University, and was elected County Agent of Tippecanoe County. He told us he also had a lovely wife, the forrner Patricia Eastman, and two children. We took a bus from Lafayette to Albany. There as we entered the Marsh's Foodliner, we met Mrs. Richard 1ChickJ Cox, the former Joyce A. Moore. She invited us to her lovely home and there we met four curly headed little Chicks As we visited with the Coxes, we told Joyce about all her former classmates. We started back home, but decided to stop and see Bob McKnight, another 1955 classmate. He was farming a farm of 500 acres. While talking to Bob and the former Verlaine Beaty, who is now his wife, we learned that Bob had started farming right after graduation. He also had four little helpers. After bidding farewell to a very joyous trip, we journeyed to our own homes.
