Fenton was born on April 10, 1924 in Holyoke, Massachu- etts, one of six children of Clement B. Fenton of New Bedford and Helen Mears Fenton of Boston. He was educated in Boston schools and earned a bachelor's degree at Boston College. During World War Il, Mr. Fenton served in the United States Navy in the Pacific islands and for three years in the Aleutian Islands. After his Navy service he was a scholastic in the Jesuit Order in its New York Province for a number of years before returning to Boston. He taught at St. Mary's High School in Lynn before ioining the faculty of Way- land Junior High School, where he taught Latin and English from 1962 to 1968. Following a lengthy illness and a return to the Society of Jesus as a scholastic, Mr. Fenton died in New York City on February 9, 1973.
