Message T0 The Students
The school year just completed has significance to all of you, and
will long be remembered, I'm sure, by those of you who availed your.-
self of the opportunity to share in the operation 'of our school-program.
During the past year you have had experiences that come to very few
students in the course of their career in the elementary school. ' We '
moved into a new school plant. We had school buses fbr the first time.
A cafeteria was put into operation. -The school chorus gave many an op-
portunity to experience groupvocaltraining. ' Our sports program gave
those boys who were interested an outlet for their energy and more im-
portant, an opportunity to associate with students from other schools
and to 'show those qualities of good sportsmanship that are so important
in later life. Our student clubs and organizations-brought our qualities
of leadership in many, while the newspaper helped tell the story of' our '
school activities. The activity club did a fine job of sharingrin the re-
sponsibility of caring for the school plant and in keeping our school
cleaner than any I have seen. All of you who' participated in these ac-
tivities may feel very proud of the fine job you have done.
Probably the most important thing ypu developed from the past ex-
periences is a feeling of belonging to a group that are intensely proud of
their school. This feeling will grow and grow as-you continue to share
in the thought that thislis your school, and th-at you alone can determine
what type of a school it will be.
I am already looking-forward-to another year of building and im-
proving not only facilities, but students. The most gratifying reward
any of us can receive from our work with you, is to see those qualities
that make an outstanding citizen blossom forth from all of-you.
Sincerely,
”
