Dear Students: One of our oldest institutions is the American public school. The history of this institution parallels the growth and development of our national civilization. Enrollment in the modern high school is, indeed, a true cross section of American society. Regardless of race, creed, or color, the American student is entitled to receive secondary education at public expense. The growth of this institution during the past few years indicates the desire on the part of our citizens to give advanced training beyond the elementary school to the youth of the land. This is deemed necessary if democracy is to succeed. To a large extent the future leader- ship of the world rests with this country. There- fore, it is imperative that we provide good leadership in order that the turbidity of world affairs may be alleviated and world peace made possible. This constitutes a real chal- lenge to those young men and women now in our high school. Sincerely yours, G. W. BANNERMAN Principal G. W. BANNERMAN Principal SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL P. T. A.
