After a week of steady improvement, Wausau overwhelmed Marshfield on our home field, 40-0. The next game was played at Nekoosa on September 28, and Wausau was beaten, 19-13. Bad breaks may receive partial blame for this loss. The fourth game on our schedule was played at Wausau with Stevens Point as the opponent. Point won, 12-0, by scoring two touchdowns in the last half of the game after a hard-fought scoreless tie during the first half. Wausau scored a touchdown during the first half of the game at Rhinelander but failed to convert the extra point. In the last half Rhinelander came back to score a touchdown and the extra point. The extra point proved to be the winning one giving the Hodags the game, 7-6. The next week Wausau went to Antigo, and, al- though thre underdogs, won 12-0 by cap- italizing on the few good breaks received. The homecoming game against Wis- consin Rapids was a huge success, as Wausau defeated the Rapids, 13-7. Thus, the tradition that Rapids has never beat- en Wausau on our gridiron was upheld. The last game of the season was played at Merrill, and Merrill won, 25-0, in a game that was none too encouraging to Wausau fans. The total attendance for the four home games in 1935 was 8,590, while the attend- ance for five games in 1934 was 10,417.
