DRAMATICS CLUB First row: Jean Banks, Velda Bruder, Sheila Kirby, Ardis Halleen, Sharon Lindquist, Vicky Pearson. Sec- ond row: Keith Olson, Gary Halleen, Karen Smith, Anne Butler, Josephine Larson, Richard Thorell, Rolan Andersoa, Arthur Halleen, Miss Mengedoht. On November 8, 1957, the Junior class presented the comedy entitled Keep Moving by Paul S. Mc- Coy. Richard Thorell played the leading character as Professor Randolph. Carole Anderson, Juanita John- son, Robert Swanson, Dennis Johnson, and Robert Skalberg had major parts. The characters were as follows: Anne Baldwin, Carole Anderson; June Harris, Juanita Johnson; Rush Harris, Dennis Johnson; Tom Jeffrey, Robert Swanson: Douglas Wells. Robert Skalberg; Professor Edmund Enoch Randolph. Richard Thorell; Harriet Mason, Marilyn Wrick; Emma Knight, Susan Nelson; Loretta Phillips, Norma Seagren; Charity Lynn, Eva Ayres; Sam Vine, Leon Anderson. In early spring, the Senior class presented The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come based upon the famous novel of the same name by John Fox, Jr. In Charles George’s adaption of this play, Jon Philips played the lead character as Chad. Johnny Hillberg, Vicky Pearson, Jo Ann Suhr, and Richard Carlson had major roles. The cast included: Chad, the little shepherd, Jon Phillips; Nathan Cherry, LaNoy Norman; Betsy Cherry, Linda Anderson; Melissy Turner, Ardis Halleen; Major Calvin Buford, Johnny Hillberg; Miss Lucy Buford, Vicky Pearson; Old Tom, Dick Carlson; Thanky, Karen Larson; Mrs. Caro- line Dean, Jo Ann Suhr; Margaret Dean, Jean Banks; Richard Hunt, Pat Haley; Nellie Hunt, Sharon Lind- quist; Jennie Overstreet, Mary Lou Johnson. We are planning to participate in the District HI Dramatic Contest. Members of the local high school dramatics club will enter these divisions, namely: prose readings, poetry readings, dramatic readings, original oratory, and interpretative oratory. We owe much credit to those students who assisted us in costuming, interior decorating, make-up, and stage craft.
