In the fall of 1957, 116 grade school pupils registered in the Wausa Public School for the 1957-58 school term. With the sound of the bell, all pupils made their way to respective rooms and thus another year of classroom duties and activities was on the way. Of the total enrolled, the distribution among grades was as follows: kindergarten, 19; grade one, 19; grade two, 14; grade three, 8; grade four, 10; grade five, 9; grade six, 12; grade seven, 10; and grade eight, 15. New students enrolling during the school year were: Marcia Bauerly and Elizabeth Loeffler in grade one, Sharon Lindstrom in grade two, David Loeffler and Keith Bauerly in grade three, and Nancy Loeffler in grade five. Along with their regular school work, the Wausa grade school students participated in music, programs, and athletic activities.
