HIGH SCHOOL HISTORY In the fall of 1957, twenty-three freshmen began their first year in the Wausa High School. As the class was organized the following were elected to offices: President, David Banks; Vice President, Judy Swanson; Secretary, Marlyce Swanson; and Treasurer, Judith Bengston. Ronald Fink, Rowlan Anderson, Sharon Gillilan, and Karen Suhr were chosen as student council members. Judith Bengston was selected as cheerleader. Miss Arent served as class sponsor. Thirty-one sophomores returned to Wausa High this year. Karen Bauerly joined the class before the close of the first semester making the total enrollment thirty-two. The following class officers were elected: President, Velda Bruder; Vice President. David Stenberg; Secretary, Shirlene Banks; and Treas- urer, Gary Anderson. Those elected to the student council were: Marjorie Olson, Karen Smith, Dennis Anderson, and Rolan Anderson. Velda Bruder was selected as cheerleader. Mr. Horner served as class sponsor. Twenty-seven juniors returned in September for their third year in Wausa High. Class officers were: President, Norma Seagren; Vice President, Gordon Kumm; Secretary, Dennis Johnson; and Treas- urer, Herbert Bengston. Beverly Anderson, Betty Erickson, Robert Skalberg, and Robert N. Swanson were elected to the student council. Cheerleaders selected were: Sheila Kirby and Marilyn Wrick. Mr. Para- disanos and Miss Mengedoht were class sponsors. The underclasses were well represented in all phases of the extracurricular activities which are a part of the educational program of the Wausa Schools.
