YOUNGS SPORTING GOODS Pep Rallies A special salute to all of those brave kids who participated in pep rally skits. It's all a part of winning. ... roll-on,... (Wilma) Wauneta will beat 'um with no sweat! (Roni) ... and cream deodorants. (Jill) • Iomecoming Pep Rally Surrounding a huge fire composed of hundreds of boxes and countless fireworks, the Wauneta students staged their annual Homecoming Pep Rally. It began on Main Street Thursday night, a perfect night for a rally, where A Benkelman Tiger had previously hung in effigy. Pep talks and speeches were heard from Jody Engell, Constable Elby Ungles, Coach McKee, and the Senior football players. The cheerleaders and pep club aslo added to the spirit with several cheers and yells. After the dummy had been torn down, everyone took off running for th big bonfire at the parking lot. The Senior boys had a good blaze going by the time the spirited onlookers arrived. Following a snake dance around the fire and a speech from Mr. Gary Goodchuck, almost everyone occupied himself with dodging .ky rockets and various other types of fireworks. The bonfire was undoubtedly one of the largest in Wauneta's history. Congratulations go to the S mior boys for a tremendous job. Everyone left full of spirit for the big game.
