Yes! He hired Loren Nordhausen. Loren's main trouble now is accounting to the government how he built those thirteen country estates on his $87.33 a week salary. Did you talk to Marcia Rueter? She was so good at raising cats that she switched to mink. She has so many now that she doesn't know what to do with them. Her cousin, Brice Rueter, is in the diplomatic corp. He's pretty good. He said he hasn't had a fight with his wife since they were married. He's flying to the French Riviera tomorrow. They've had one crisis after another since Linda Kerchal showed up for her yearly vacation. The harbor was too small for her yacht, so she sued the government. I talked to Margie Baldonado. She doesn't look a day older than when she graduated. She's a private secretary. She said she has to keep in shape because her boss chases her around the desk everyday. He hasn't caught her yet. Do you remember the guy that came to the reunion in a track suit. That was her boss, Gene Bartels. There's another athlete in the class, too. LaDonna Brunt now wrestles under the name of The Blonde Bruiser. She won the world's championship in three straight falls last week. Gary Gibbons mentioned that he was now working for a timber company planting pine trees, up in Washington State, with all the lumber jacks. While we’re on that subject, Ron Lytle said he was a jack of all trades, but master of none. Linda Handel, it seems, has been working long hours in her laboratory trying to find a cure for the common cold. She finally tried chili pepper. It worked, but now she's trying to find a cure for the common hot. Bill Ham said he now worked for Goodwear Rubber Company. He tests the wear resistance of tires. His job consists of nothing more than driving around the block all day and squealing every corner he comes to. He likes his job so well, that he wouldn't trade with anyone else in the country. Karen Stock flew over from her modeling job in Paris to see everyone. Jaunetta Sailors happened to be the stewardess on that flight. That woman with the pink chinchilla coat was Diana Anderson. She had resigned herself to being an old farmer, but then she found uranium on her property. Now they won't let her go abroad because she takes all of the money out of the country. The last I heard, she was trying to buy Rhode Island for her summer estate. Cathy Haarberg is the new Mrs. America. She says all the credit for her title should go to the Home Ec. Classes she attended in high school. Judy Nordhausen wrote a book on how to make a million dollars. It would have been a great success, but she didn’t have the money to get it published. Margaret DeHart is an interior decorator. Next week she's going to India to redecorate the Taj Mahal. Kathleen Hollinger now designs Paris originals. Then she ships them to Paris. Connie Carrigan said she is married to an English noble. Now she’s Lady Carrigan. She's been having lots of trouble lately with ghosts in her castle. Janice Kerchal is our first woman astronaut. Since she's been up there, the Russians can't find anyone who’ll go up, because Janice, being a typical woman driver has run everyone else off the road. Donna Sturtevant joined the Peace Corps. She is now heading a campaign to stop cigarette sales to the pygmies, because it is stunting their growth. Here we are, home already. The ride sure went fast. I can hardly wait to see all the old class again at our next reunion. 17

CLASS PROPHECY Here at last. My, look how old Wauneta has changed! How do you think we'll ever find the schoolhouse? Did it say where it was on the invitation? I'll look. Let's see . . . Reunion of the Wauneta High School Class of 1962. To b held on Friday, April 17, 19 . . . no, it doesn't give any directions. Let's stop in at this cafe and ask. Why, hello, Judy Long! You say you own all the cafes in Wauneta now? You got your start as a waitress during high school? Where is the old high school now? All right, thanks a lot. We'll see you at the reunion. Here's the school. Right where she said it would be. It looks different . . . My, I sure had fun at the reunion! Yes, it’s too bad it was over so soon, I just dread the long trip home again. Let’s talk about some of the people we saw again. That'll make the trip shorter. It's too bad some of the old gang couldn't make it. I would've liked to have talked to Jo Webber. Somebody said she had to stay home and milk the cows. I guess her surge milking machine is on the blink again. Kenny Krausnick wasn't there either. He's joined the French Foreign Legion. He said he'd always wanted to meet some of those French girls that he'd read about. Poo guy, nobody's heard from him since he was transferred from French Equatorial Afric to the South Pole. That reminds me. Did you know that Butch Shores is at the North Pole raising huskies. He's getting cold feet about the whole deal, though. What's that in the road up ahead? It looks like a drag race. Darn fool kids, anywa Did you see who I saw in those cars? I think I did. That’s why they left the reunion early! They're still up to the old tricks! Don Rietsch was going to bring his hot rod today to have at the reunion but he had some last minute trouble. He's been trying all these years to get it running good enough to drag Teply, but something always comes up. Jim Teply, by the way, is trying to break the world's land speed record at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah. He has a jet bomber with the wings cut off. Wesley Myers really had a good time at the reunion didn't he? Yes, he works for a giant ice cream company now. He's the chief taster. They s: he really enjoys his work. Who was that guy in the car with the horse trailer on behind? Didn’t you recognize him? That was Dennis Egle. He still races horses, but he moved up from quarter horses to half horses. He says they have better acceleration Speaking of cars, did you see that big black limousine? That's Lynn Fanning's. He's still as handsome as ever, isn't he. He makes a lot of money playing love scenes in the movies now. To think, he used to do it for free. What a waste of talent . . . His chaffeur was none other than Wanda Parker. Every Saturday, on her day off, she takes her dad's Dodge and wins the weekly sports car rally. It looks like there was a game in our old alma mater tonight. See, there goes the opposing team's school bus. Golly! What was that that just went around us? I think it was Dennis Goings. It looks like he's bent on catching that bus. He likes chase them out of town, I hear. Don Morgan's great height enabled him to make good in the world of high finance. He has so much money he has to hire his own personal accountant. 16
