This year the band has played for assemblies throughout the entire year and participated in the annual music festival which was held this year at Whitesboro where it received a rating of Ill minus. The three selections played there were: The Traveller Overture by Buchtelg Shelby March by Noel. and The llanntless Overture by Holmes. Q' 1' A ds: ' ' hgh t '. 'l faV'lf s 's.'::Cts. ' . LIBIQAIQY CLUB The Library Club of l9l0 consisted of seventeen members under the supervision of Miss Helen Cotes. This year the club has had a very interesting program due to the kindness of members of the school faculty who haye spoken at the meetings. Miss Cotes has given a brief history of the library, described and explained it to the members of the club. Miss Servatius has told about her trip to Europe and Mr. Wilcox has spoken on his trip to Europe. Mr. Thomson has given a summary of 'sWorld Affairsfi Miss Bauer also spoke about her trip to Bermuda and South America. The club has yet to hear and enjoy speeches by Miss Crumby, Mr. Rienzo, and Miss Simmons. A social meeting was held on November 2 in celebration of Halloween. During book week in November, the Library Club presented a play in the school assembly. ln December a faculty tea was sponsored by the club members in the Home- lnaking Department. An editorial staff was appointed by the club to attend to the school news of The Waterville Times. The club members have tried to improve the quality of the school news. CIQAIIT CLUB During the year the girls in Craft Club have worked on many different things. Some of them have done bead work which included the making of belts and bracelets by stringing beads together. Those who worked on wood have made several small articles such as bookends. Most of the councilis proj- ects have been carried out through the various L'UlIllI1lllPt'S it appointed. The Scholar- ship Committee appointed by the Council together with Mr. Radley. instituted all honor and credit roll posted at the end of each quarter. Its aim was to stimulate higher scholarship among the students. The Assembly Committee aided greatly ill the planning of assembly programs. while the Traffic' Committee provided ushers for school assemblies and such school functions as prize speaking. At Clinton. the team bowed 23-3-l-. heing behind one point at the end of the third quarter hut failing in the last. Then followed an easv Canastota win 33-22: and Cazenovia was overcome 20-10 in a defensive game. Going into the Sherrill contest, Waterville was tied for first half championship honors. ln a hard fought game Sherrill came out on top 23-33. This was disheartening and the team slowed down. Hamilton. seoring in the final two seconds, won the most torrid game of the season 32-33. Then New Hartford took a l7-30 decision and Clinton. first half champions. came out ahead in a hard-fought game, 22-40. ln a close game at Canastota, Waterville lneing hehind a few points at the end of each quarter, Canastota triumphed 35-4-l. Then the team made a comeback and trimmed tfaifenovia 4--1--23, leading all the way. ln the last game, revenge was taken out on Sherrill with a 37-27 victory. The high scorer was Charles Browne with 56 points and 2l assists for a total of 98, second was Norman Williams with 77 points and 2 assists.
