NEPTUNE'S FESTIVAL Climaxing an eventful year, the senior class presented their annual carnival, 'King Neptune's Festival' on March 5, at W.T.H.S. The chain of events during the evening led to the coronation of the king and queen. For a week preceding the carnival, jars were placed in the corridor, encouraging students to vote for their favorite. The larger net returns from the carnival showed the king and queen contest as high. The total receipts amounted to 3185. The victors in this popularity race were Ioan Kray of the junior class, and Burt Fangel of the senior class. Presenting the I awards in the above picture is Sally Eaton, secretary of the class of '49, and Bob Webb, prexy of the senior class. Some of the reasons for the cash gain of S400 are these: the ship's store, the fish pond, Sambo game, dart and balloon game, bean guessing contest, and the cakewalk. Others were: Fortune telling, fudge sale, galley, house of mystery, and pitching pennies. For the second consecutive year Waterford's residents have turned out to make the annual senior affair a huge success.
