5 Mr. Fox poses for a mug shot. A typical day with Mr. Fox Goodbye Mr. Fox For the past 25 years Mr. Clifford Fox has been creating a stir amongst the students at WHRHS. Not only has he been giving US History and Government classes a new meaning, he has also added a new dimension to the word learning. His students have not only learned about facts, they have also learned about themselves. Mr. Fox has challenged all of his students to look within and find out what makes them unique in all the world. A list of the many ways Mr. Fox has effected our lives would be unending, but there are a few that can not go unmentionedi Mr. Fox led the AII-School Council for his en- tire time at Watchung Hills. Under his direction, the council made many improvements, such as new trees on the school grounds. as well as a number of rewarding pro- grams, such as the senior scholarship. He also lit up our lives with the hysterical exploits of Sir Charles Lamprey - the ever present. never seen hero of the Hills. Possibly one of the biggest events that Mr. Fox has been noted for has been the monthly debates held in his US History 2 classes. These debates, like the man himself, were anything but ordinary. He made his students treat the debates and themselves very seriously. He required them to dress in formal attire and present their ideas in a very professional manner. Not only did these debates ,cause students to think about important issues surrounding our lives, but they also promoted a sense of self-esteem and overall importance. This is a prime example of the Htrue learning Mr. Fox has instilled over the years When Mr. Fox announced his retirement this year, the news was met with tears and long faces. Yet. the sadness slowly subsided when we thought of the countless precious memories he left locked within the walls of WHRHS to be cherished forever. On Jan. 14. 1987, Mr. Baly dedicated the day in honor of Mr. Fox, to be simply called Mr. Fox Day. This is the least Watchung Hills could do for a man who has brought so many new and exciting horizons to our lives. We the staff of the 1987 Lenape would like to dedicate this year's yearbook to Mr. Clifford Fox in honor of all the things he has done for our school, both academically and personally. We only hope for happiness and luck in his retire- ment, and we send our love always to this special man who will have a place in the hearts of all those lucky enough to have been touched by his magical aura. .HSit down and be quiet! OK. let's take attendance. HClass over! Dedication r 1
