The Italian Club's Most Successful Year n The Italian Club celebrates Christmas at Darryl Cilli's house. The Italian Club hasn't stopped growing since it began. This year there were as many as sixty members. Led by Mr. Dominique Muoio, the club was able to take a trip into New York City for dinner. They also sold doughnuts to raise money for a scholarship, which is given out at the end of the year. This year's officers were: president, Gina Falvo; vice presidents. Darryl Cilli and Eric Lund; recording secretary. Susan Scalfani; corresponding secretary, Meagan Coy; treasurer, Nancy Riello and Tony Mirra; historian, Michelle Moscaritolo; and typist, Nicole Zarillo. Michelle Soleno, Gina Falvo and Michele Sims enjoy t festivities. The REAL men of the Italian Club.

Sally Ann French, Nicola Husgen and Anne Wojtowicz planning events for the year. German Club Aspires in its Cultural Growth The primary goal of the German Club is to encourage and develop interest in and understanding of the cultures of the German speaking countries. This includes helping students better understand the influence Germans had in the past, as well as the way they are influencing today's society. Activities to help reach these goals vary from year to year based on the participation of its members. Our activities include: guest speakers from industry, exchange students, or visitors to the community; tThis year Frau Franke, Burgermeister of Willich was a guest speakerJ; visits to industry; trips for our exchange students tGerman American Partnership Program to Philadelphia, New York City, Pennsylvania Dutch tGermant Country. Students have also sponsored an essay and poem contest, treated eighth grade German students to authentic deutsche torte at Cafe Motzart in Union, N.J., celebrated the Oktoberfest or Marzfest at the Schwaebische Alb restaurant in Warren, marched in the Steuben Parade in New York City, attended a church service at the German Reformed Church in North Plainfield and various other Cultural events such as a play or an opera.

1M The Great Men and Women of the Spanish Club. The purpose of the Spanish Club, said advisor Mr. Llano, is to involve students more deeply in the study of Spanish. This year's club entered contests, went on field trips, and visited New York City to see a Spanish play. They also dined at a Spanish restaurant in order to experience the multitudinous flavors of Spanish cuisine. In addition the members celebrated Christmas with a Spanish fiesta. The club is headed by president Roberta Hwang, vice president Sue Zegar, secretary Donna Gaurino and treasurer Tim Forton. Sr. Llano and members of the club translate Spanish fairytale books.
