The 1986-87 Boys' Freshmen Basketball team. Freshmen Bogs Qtruggle Through Season Freshmen boys on detense. Dave Konzal goes up for a long shot, as Greg Schwartz checks the opposition. w, Coach DeVito spells out the game strategy to the team. Glenn Hillman battles for the point. as Justin Kuhns looks on. Scott Washington dribbles away from the op- position, as Chris Kilker looks to relieve him. The Boysl Freshmen Basketball team finished their season with a 4-13 record. They had a tougher time than usual because outstanding freshman players Jeffrey Roberto and Chris Drewry went to Varsity and JV respectively. This kept the team from winning against some of the harder teams in the conference. Yet, Coach DeVito sees it all as a learning experience. He says that i'the team would have won more games, but I wanted to give all 18 kids a chance to play. Perhaps Coach DeVito has the best idea of all! Sports 153 .

ris Harris puts the ball in play. at ,. 3 TE Sue Armstrong attempts a shot against her Piscataway opponent. Kelly McMahon takes over the ball. The 1986-87 Girls' Varsity Basketball team had a 6-15 record, but the season was good. The team was made up of a fine group of dedicated athletes who worked very hard straight through the season. Coach Kaye stated, HThe girls achieved most of their goals in not giving up, and playing aggressively. They had a great deal of team spirit, and the girls enjoyed playing together. All the seniors on the team had outstanding individual seasons; they were Jacque Haskell, Kelly McMahon, and JoAnne Golden. A junior who deserves immense recognition is Sue Armstrong. Sue has led the team in scoring and rebounding, and she is beginning to gain area recognition. Next year, the team will not only be Hpeskyll, as the media has noted, but they will also be the team to beat. Sue Armstrong battles to make a basket. Snnng 155
