Bogs' Varsity Basketball Led By McAteer Although the 1986-87 Boys' Varsity Basketball team didn't have an impressive record on paper t2-19l, they did have an impressive amount of personal growth. It was hard for the team to keep up the status they enjoyed last year since they lost five senior starters last year. Yet, they fought hard, and in the process many impressive talents were nurtured. Freshman Jeffrey Roberto was an outstanding and integral member of the team. He along with Todd Anderson were recipients of this year's Coaches Award. The team is lucky to have Jeff's talent to harbor them for the next three years. Senior John McAteer was an asset to the team throughout the season. John averaged an outstanding 17V2 pts. per game. As a personal triumph, John was chosen for the 2nd team All-County. it is no wonder that he received the MVP. GIRLS' TENNIS TEAM Once again, the 1986-87 Girls' Tennis team was the epitome of all sports at Watchung. Not only did they blow away their opponents, coming out of the season with a 21-3 record, but they also promoted an excellence in individual enhancement. The team won Mid-State conference Championship, the Central Jersey Group III, and Championship Runner Up in the State Group III Championship.
