Freshmen End Qeason 7-l -l The Freshmen Football team had an outstanding season this year. They came out of it with a 7-1 -1 record, which was the best freshmen football record Watchung has had in many years. Under the direction of Mr. Muldowny, the team went on to beat Piscataway, Somerville, and Franklin all in the same year, which is a very hard and rare feat to accomplish. The season saw many fine athletes receive outstanding Q i 1? l' Jar l? achievement awards: Ken Hawthorne - Best All Now Player, Dan O'Dea - Bestc Carl Malatesta - Best Defe Collin Hamilton - Coaches: With such a fantastic seasor them, there were many men moments for Coach Muldom recall, yet one that he pinpoi beating Hunterdon Central last game of the year to win conference championship. The members that were awarded for their excellence were Jon Jeans lMVP, 1st team All Somerset lCountyt, Scott McManus, Tom Horincewich, and Jeff McManus lall 1st team Somerset Countyi, Kyle Young l2nd team All Somerset Countyi, and Doug Jamieson. Senior Jon Jeans, an extremely valuable player to the team, scored the most goals in the season l31l. a Being a first year coach. Kanach was l'impressed with the team for their hustle, desire, and determination. He possibly said it all when he commented, These guys are truly winners. Jon Jeans races for control of the ball. Scott McManus executes fancy footwork to keep possession of the ball. Kyle Young heads for the goal. Jeff McManus makes a miraculous save.
