Junior Varsity Looks Forward to Next Season The JV football team put up a good fight against some of the toughest conference teams around. They ended with a 2-4-2 record at the close of the season. Special awards were given to Jerry Singara - Most Improved, Scott Chiarello - Best Defense, Doug Martin and Andy Reale - Outstanding Achievement. Coach Sandusky feels that if the boys out down on some of their mistakes, the team would have a good chance at a winning season. As far as memorable moments, Coach Sandusky is already thinking of the future. Andy Reali contemplates the game at half time.

Varsity Football Has Fine Individuals Even though the Varsity Football team posted a 1-8 record, there were many outstanding players this year. Captain Ralph Malatesta was elected to the AIl-County team for his second year, while also being Lineman of the Year for the team. Captain Mike Biglow tied a school record by making six career in- terceptions, in which he was selected to both AlI-Area and All- Conference. Freshmen End Qeason 7-l -l The Freshmen Football team had an outstanding season this year. They came out of it with a 7-1 -1 record, which was the best freshmen football record Watchung has had in many years. Under the direction of Mr. Muldowny, the team went on to beat Piscataway, Somerville, and Franklin all in the same year, which is a very hard and rare feat to accomplish.
