A Strong Team Despite Loss of Last Year's Girls Because many players graduated last year, there were only four returning players to the Varsity Field Hockey Team. They were Sue Svenningson, Sarah Miller, Chris Harris, and Gina Iachio. With a new team, the girls made it to the Mid- State Conference and the Somerset County Conference. The team is looking forward to another rewarding season next year. Post- season honors went to: Sue Svenningson for First Team Somerset County Offense, Sue Armstrong for Second Team Somerset County Offense, and Julie Wolfe for Second Team Somerset County Defense. Mid-State Conference Awards were as follows: First Team Offense: Sue Svenningson, First Team Defense: Julie Wolfe, Second Team Offense: Sue Armstrong, Second Team Defense: Sarah Miller. The J.V. girls getting psyched before a game again st North Hunterdo n. J.V. Girls Finish 8-5-l Despite their youth, the Ju Varsity Field Hockey Team 5 strong, competitive edge thri the season. They played twc games against the powerful Hunterdon team and lost bot oniy one goal. The team finis 8-5-1. Co-captains Kerrin Gill at c halfback and Diane Sinclair: sweeper, led a group of ener players through a difficult conference. Outstanding pla included sophomore Beth Niesmertelny, who scored a high of ten goals and goalie l Pace, also a sophomore, wh saves this season.
