i 72 x4 ihe 1972-73 Watchung Hills matmen r7 finished the year with a 4-33 record X having a winning team for the third consecutive year. Although this was a rebuilding year, there were many excit- ing highlights for Coach Andy Furlongis wrestlers. This was a young team, sporting only three seniors. Leading the way for the warrior gra- plers was Captain Bob Kiefer. Bob has a brilliant 10-0 duel meet record, fin- ishing 17-2 on the year including tour- nament action. The agile 157 pound Kiefer thrilled the Watchung fans with 6 pins, while having led the team in scoring. In his junior year, Bob won the District 20 Wrestling tournament, finishing the year with a 13-1 record. Also in his junior year, Bob won the region five championship and placed second in the New Jersey State tourna- ment held at Princeton. Agressive and talented, Kiefer was also an academic scholar receiving a scholarship to Rut- gers where he will pursue an engineer- ing curriculum while continuing- with his wrestling career. 157 1 Bob Keifer
