WHR Hosts AFS Guests Upon completing the school day, they returned to the homes of ' those who were hosting them' for the weekend. During their stay the students had a taste of Wat; Chung Hills life by attending the basketball game, partying, visit- ing Turntable Junction e a his- torical site near Flemington, and finally feasting at the AFS spa- ghetti dinner. The dinner was a great success, with fine food and a lively discussion in which all took part. On Sunday the foreign students returned to their Ameri- cani families throughout northern New Jersey, and a memorable weekend for all concerned came to an end. On February 2 the AFS chapter of our school hosted fourteen foreign exchange stu- dents who are studying in northern New Jer- sey. These students from Brazil, Costa Rica, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Norway, Thai- land, South Vietnam, and Iran participated in two assembly programs, in which each was able to speak about his own country and then receive questions from the audience. After the assembly, the exchange students vis- ited vari'ous history and English classes throughout the rest of the day. There they were able to discuss in detail their impres- sions of America and explain the political and social aspects of their own country. 23
