Under Chief Adcock, this versatile 16-man group performed during all seamanship cvolutions, cnlivening the spirit of ehlpe alongside as well as of our own working divisions. Band number! just prior to colors each morning in port also started the day out on the right foot for us. Sunday jazz concerts became famous during monotonous weeks at sea, with the quality of music equalling most we heard in ports visited. The Band also pro- vided appropriate music for visiting dignitaries. Members of the band were hand-picked from the Navy Music School to tour with last year's All-Navy Talent Show, with which they were on the road for about two months, touring nearly every state in the country.
