His, Sludge, Nli, lluin. SGPI-ICDMORE The lfreshman Class of last year totaled a number of ninety-two. ln the first meeting of thc class, officers were elected. Bob Jeffries was chosen as presidentg Stanley lfichsen. vice-president, l,u- cille Linder, secretaryg Eric lferdinandsen, treasurerg and Alma Hutt. Virginia Hannickel, and Alimmie Brooks, as the executive committee. 'lihe class sponsors were Mrs. Mudge. illrs. lfngleson, bliss Sin- clair, Miss Crow, and Ur. Force. Ar the annual initiation the Freshman boys and girls were defeated by the Sophomores by a large margin. For a week they were Scrubs and had to enter the building by the back door and wear green ribbons in their hair, 'lihe Freshman class did very well scholastically last year. 'lihere were thirteen students who were eligible to belong to the Scholarship Society. They were Dolores Bird. CLASS OF 1947 Seven boys earned their letters in football: Glenn Bradley, Virgil lfischen, NVillard Sullivan, Bruce Blacksill. Leo jelmini. David Pence, and lyan Uielg ix'IlkC'CillllllI1 and 'firgil lfischen also made their letters in basketball. 'lihe junior class play, Our Girls , directed by Miss Lucy Anna Davis. was a big success. 'l'he cast included Nancy lfyer, Marianne Christensen. .luanita Kahler. Phyllis Stephens, Diana Macker- sie. Joe Van Gundy. Arthur Smith, Ramon Nielsen. Robert Dahlgren, Herbert -lessen, and Hike Gu- lian. The profits from the play. plus candy sales profits and dues. financed the gala .lunior -Senior ban- quet held this year at the Parlor Lecture Club. The juniors tied with the Sophomores for first place on the honor roll for thefirst selnester: those having all A's were Robert Dahlgren, Herbert -lessen. and Angelina Lobbia. Un the honorable men- tion list for the same period were the names of Nadyne Hirdsell. Helen Hansen. Gladys Papazian, Josephine Potzernitz. Siverdt Poulsen. and Phyllis Stephens: the honorable mention list contains the names of pupils who have all grades of A and li. Robert Dahlgren, Herbert -lessen, Angelina Lobbia. and Aloe VanGundy. were L'.S.l . members both semesters: Siyerdt Poulsen qualified for first semester membership and Gladys Papazian for sec- ond.
