Milla. TI-IE JUNIOR CLASS The final trail before they reach the last tort is approaching for the luniors The three years behind them have been happy ones and they have worked hard to make them successful The first accomplishment ot the year was to display class rlngs at the begin ning of the term Because they ordered their rings in the latter part of the Sopho more year theirs was the first class to obtain them so soon The cooperatlve spirit among the members enabled them to win the annual Song and Yell Contest On March 25 the Iuniors presented for an assembly program a hilarious one act comedy lust a Little Mistake which was received enthusiastically by the Student Body This year gave the Iuntors more opportun1t1es to show their capabilrties Many Business Manager and Sports Editor They were well represented in the Student Body Play Vodvil Operetta and other activities and had the largest number of any class represented in the Scholarship Society Their greatest undertaking was the Junior Senror Prorn which was held on April Z2 With the novel idea of a deep sea garden as the theme the gym was decorated with tropical fish and living plants ot the sea Balloons floated about like bubbles and reflected lights presented a deep sea atmosphere The small gym was set with tables and waitresses dressed like sailors served refresh ments Honoring the Senior class ot 38 a gardenia was presented to each Senior and memory books were also given The luntor class has proved itsell successful in all its undertakings We may well expect an outstanding Senior class next year 44202 ot the class worked on the Hatchet statt in the positions of Assistant Editor,

NM THE SOPHOMORE CLASS Wrth a long trarl st1ll ahead of them and wtth a l1ttle more experrence behrnd them the Sophomore Class took up the second lap of therr Journey October 22 1937 marked the date for the Sophomore Cotton Hop wh1ch was a cord and glngham affa1r The gym was decorated approprrately for the theme wlth balls of cotton lard among the greens Each person upon entermg the dance floor was presented Wllh a program decorated wlth g1ngham When the fmal hour of the dance approached everyone was regretful Thrs was the f1rst pro gram dance that had been held 1n a long trme and lt proved to be a great success The class s second undertakrng for the year was 1ts assembly program grven bers of the faculty and 1t was very amus1ng to the student body Every year 1t has been customary for the Sophomore class to take care of the museum case A chosen comm1ttee placed 1n the case mterestrng dlsplays on travel teaturmg artlcles from England Austral1a the F111 Islands and Alaska Another Sophomore duty IS decoratmg the halls and aud1tor1um for the Chrrst mas Pageant Thrs year s class used the tradmonal greens and candles but added a Nat1v1ty scene wh1ch was set up rn the trophy case The Sophomores showed excellent dramatlc talent They took part 1n and s.1bm1tted stunts for the Vodvrl and turmshed one ot the leads for the Student Body Play Many members of thrs class were also on the Hatchet Staff and rn the Scholarshlp Soclety 4222 l on April 22.
