The main activities of this large club include a United Nations Day program, a social hour, distribution of flags to homerooms, and leading the pledge of allegiance at assemblies. Girls' Staters Learn Concepts oi Government On June 7, l959, six girls trom WSHS lett Sioux Falls to spend a very enjoyable week learning the basic concepts ot government at South Dakota Girls' State. During their stay on the Dakota Wesleyan campus at Mitchell they learned government by taking an active part in Girls' State governmental operations. These girls were chosen by the taculty on the basis ot scholarship, leader- ship, and personality. Boys' Staters Participate in Government Boys' State is a mythical State in which high school boys learn the tundamentals ot government by participation. Each spring boys are chosen on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and personal- ity to attend South Dakota Boys' State. This institute, sponsored annually by the American Legion, is held on the campus of Northern State Teachers' College in Aberdeen.
