A.. B. Murray Superintendent, Dana Hyer, Clerk, Robert A. Craig, President, Thomas S. Christopher, Vice President, William C. Allen, Ray Brandenburg, Leonard R. Korn, Stephen C. Brown, Principal. One of the major characteristics of our Ameri- can scene today is our persistent faith in educa- tion. The advance of our people: in well-being, in comfortable living, in culture and refinement, in productive capacity, in usefulness as citizens, must, for the most part, be attributed to educa- tion, whether the latter has functioned directly or indirectly through leadership of the most able. The l948 graduates of Washington High School have distinguished themselves by their character, personality, loyalty and high standards of scholastic achievement. The entire faculty and student body wishes them the best of everything that can be attained. Through their diligent study in the var- ious courses they pursued, they are better prepared to approach the goals they have chosen for their life's vocation. To each member of this class, l wish to say good luck and success in whatever you endeavor to do. Stephen C. Brown, Principal, Washington High School. Our l948 seniors have had twelve years of fine experiences as pupils in the public schools. On behalf of the community l salute you! For eleven years it has been my pleasure to follow the leadership of most of your class, and the memory is very pleasant. lt is a credit to the class of l948 that the members of the faculty hold you in high esteem. Your individual successes in life should not dim the memory of our regard for you in the experiences we have shared. A. B. Murray, Superintendent of City Schools.
