I1 1 RST ROVS .I 111 111111111111 111 N1111 111 21111 Klllllll 111 11111 1111 141113 111t Carol AI11lN1I1l1l,, llfl X P01111 1 1 1 1 1 SENIOR GIRL RESERVIL QLUB PURPOSE To Find and Glue the Best The SEDIOI G1rl Reserve Club started the year Wlth Janet Chaney as presldent, Jean W1111s VICE pres1dent Ruth Adams sec1etary, Helen Adams treasurer Evelyna Long p ogram chalrman and Beverly Long, soc1al chaurman Janet and Evelyna had attended the G1rl Reserve Summer Conference at Camp W1ldwood and brought back many 1d98S wh1ch the off1cers and commlttees used 1n plann1ng the years program The war Wlth 1tS 3Ct1VltIES had ltS mfluence on the years plans of the G1rl Reserves On December 8 the Senlor Club had Wave Aavrelle Easteppe and Lleutenant Carl Franklln as guest speakers for an open meetxng ln the L1ttle Theatre Wave Easteppe and Lleutenant Frankl1n explamed the Wave requlrements and the tramlng program wh1ch the Waves offer The Jumor G1rl Reserves were the guests of the Senlor Club for th1s meetlng On February 2 the Junlor Club 1DV1t6d the Senlor Club members to hear Mlss Catherlne M Forrest R N, explam the Unlted States Cadet Nurse Corps Before Chr1stmas the glrls of both clubs helped the Red Cross Chr1stmas Seal Com mlttee 1n preparmg the seals and letters to be ma1led The glrls also helped 1n mak mg shoe cloths to be put 1n the k1t bags Whlth the Red Cross furnlshes for the boys gomg overseas On December 23 came the hlgh po1nt 1n the SOCl3l affans of the G1rl Reserves That evenmg the g1rls of both clubs entertamed the1r guests Wllh a dance 1n the gymnaslum The Hlllsboro and Greenfleld Glll Reserves were 1nv1ted, as were the faculty the of f1cers of the YWCA Councll and representatxves of the Amer1can Leglon G1rl Reserve Week February 21 to 28 brought the annual assembly wh1ch the two G11l Reserve Clubs sponsor for the ent1re student body Max Sauer was the speaker chosen for the assembly H1s talk full of Wlt, humor and phllosophv pleased everv one Mr F1fZWHtBF led the students 1n Slllgllig songs w1th organ accompamment Othu htghllghts 111 the yL11s progmm WCIC the Mothot s D1y TL 1, and tht ful well lneakfast fo1 thc G11l Rfesezves 111 the 5011101 class 11 1, - 1 1 ' S11. - '111 1 il a 1-r 1:1 111 1111, ' 1 , rr , ill' '111' -t J l , . 1 'zt 1 , .1111 '21 lf, 11,11 1 1. -1 if, .
