NATIONAL HONOR SOLIETY The Natlonal Honor SOCIEIY IS composed of senlor students who are selected at the end of then' Junlor year for membershlp by the entlre h1gh school faculty on the bHSlS of scholarshlp leadershlp charactel and SEFVICC The ch1ef act1v1ty of the group th1s year has been the Wrltlflg and publlshlng of the school paper The LIODS Roar whlch was sold at f1V6 cents per copy In one lssue of the The LIODS Roar a Baby Derby of the faculty was featured In others the Homecommg Queen w1th her attendants plctures of the varlous athletlc teams the band and other Ol'g3n1Zat101'1S rated page one In th1s productlon we have had feature artlcles such as Betty Weep who IS a creat1on correspondlng to the well known Beatrlce Falrfax or Cynth1a Grey In her column each week there are several pathetlc appeals for advlce to whlch Mlss Keep answers 1n the same column wlth the best of her ab1l1ty Another well llked artlcle was Cl3SSlf16d Ads IH whlch there was anythmg from a plea for a date to the advert1sement of the sale of a physlcs book Other popular artlcles wh1ch were carrled through each lssue were Personalltles on Parade whlch was a short revxew of students ID each class A Tour of the Blllldlng whlch was a detalled account of the happemngs both serlous and otherwlse, of the d1f ferent departments of the school was conducted unt1l the tour was completed The act1v1t1es of the club for th1s year have been under the supervlslon of Mlss Mary Ehzabeth Wood who was supported by the offlcers Karl HHIDE ptesldent Frederxc Carlson vlce presxdent Evelyna Long secretary and Marle Marchant treasurer The staff of The Lxons Roar IS as follows Vlfglhla Crale Head Roar Judlth Paul Chlef Grrr Karl Harper Sports Tall Bobby Lou Speaks Club Manes Frances Mc Donald Feature Paws Mane Marchant F1HaI1C1al Wh1Sk6YS and Nancv Iames Clrcula txon Growl The other members of the Honor Soclety have served as reporters for the newspaper LAST ROW Jane P1tteng.,er Lmmt Jean Hnnry Robert Dfnton Vllglllld.
